My first International Travel-Hong Kong

This is my first attempt on a self-travelling log and I hope make this better as I keep updating my blog this is future. :)

You may have pictures and videos in that DSLR or the latest handicam that you just bought but what your eyes capture and the memories that remain with us cannot always be captured in any camera nor can anybody put this on paper. But i promise to try my best to this.

Pankaj and Aman are the closest of friends and Roamed around the West Asian metropolitan with them. The Hong Kong visit was my first travel to an international location though it was second to my relocation 8 months ago to Australia. Right now living in Perth - The loneliest city in the world. I will come back to the intricate details of Perth and other small places in Western Australia in a later post.

I was in Hong Kong for 3 days and truly speaking I totally enjoyed it. The city is huge and has a vast network of bridges and tunnels seriously i _/\_ to the amount of infrastructure there. Very densely populated but somehow i liked it. The city is divided into 3 islands - The main Hong Kong island, New Territories and the Kowloon Peninsula. The public transport of Hong Kong is the largest knit public transport in the world and mark my words you might get tired changing trains or buses but each and every place is thoroughly connected through this. In Hong Kong if you are without a 2G or a 3G connection it will make your visit tough as the city is quite big and if you don't know the local language it is going to be difficult. So it is always better to be planned here. One2free is what helped throughout our trip and successfully made our smartphones serve the purpose. To roam around the city using the public transport network Octopus card is what that will help you out. Just top it up and it is ready for use. Octopus cards can also be used in the form of payment in some shops (not sure in which shops though).

Well the Lan Kwai Fong area of Hong Kong has the best bars of Hong Kong including the Hard Rock Cafe. You can find activity in this area at anytime in the night, one of the liveliest places in Hong Kong (Well the city in itself never sleeps : P.  Well if I don't mention Wan Chai then I would have missed the cherry on the icing here. Wan Chai apart from being the Government Territory of Hong Kong also houses a variety of restaurants, bars and night clubs and moreover you can find a huge of line of car showrooms of the big companies.

Hong Kong is surrounded by mountains and the skyline is worth a watch from 'The Peak' which offers an awesome view from height of few hundred feet. Mostly raining and clouds passing by you :P. The Peak Complex is a mall sort of place where it had shops and showrooms.  The Madame Tussads' and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. are the highlights of the place. The tram at the peak offers a trip around and you most certainly can view the expanse of the city.

We also visited Macau a neighboring city to Hong Kong, which seems much more developed. About an hour ride on the ferry. One of the most unique place where Chinese as well as Portuguese seems to be the official language. This is at mainland china but follows the Macau Dollar as the currency where you Hong Kong dollar is also accepted. It can be just named as the Las Vegas of the East. Fully filled with casinos, bars and of course  night clubs. Pretty much a location for the lavish and the gambler's. Well, if you are not there for gambling you can experience the world's highest bungee jump from The Macau Tower. The Macau tower is one of the tallest free standing towers in the world. Whether you gamble or go nightclubbing, this is surely a 'to do if your in Macau' activity. I owe an awesome experience to this place.

Chi Lin Nunnery is a Buddhist temple which is built in a huge area of 33,000 sq m on the Diamond Hill. With a very peaceful atmosphere, this place is really awesome with a huge dense garden and vegetarian restaurant. The restaurant obviously served some wonderful tea which I failed to grab the best of :-).

This sums up my trip though we missed out a few things but altogether had fun

Will post more of my travel accounts :)
